Is Hip Hop really dead? If so, who killed it?
As I listen to my local radio station hoping to hear some good quality Hip Hop, all I am presented with is loud obnoxious simple noise. To be more specific, trash. To be even more specific how about “corrupt communication”? That’s what the Holy Bible refers to it as.
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
Ephesians 4:29
Oh yes, I’m a stern and stout believer of the Word of God and you will hear me refer to it quite often throughout this article. So let’s move on.
Me being a 60’s baby, I grew up in the era of the birth of Hip Hop and on its worst day it never sounded like what mainstream radio is playing today. Maybe Nas was right. Maybe Hip Hop is dead. Coming up and partying at the local skating rinks, block parties and nightclubs we never wanted to party like a rock star. We wanted to party like the rappers. We wanted to party like Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Grandmaster Melle Mell, The Cold Crush Brothers, Busy Bee, Afrika Bambaataa. That’s whom we dreamed of partying like. Now, I would like to throw a couple of names at you. These are song titles from the Billboard Top 20 Rap Songs nationwide. Here we go. I feel nauseous already.
Drop pop it lock??? What the hell is that?
Lean with it, rock with it??? Do what with it?
Bay Bay Bay??? Wipe me down??? Rock yo hips???
Our people are truly destroyed for a lack of knowledge.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Hosea 4:6
What happened to titles like “Fight the Power”, “The Message”, “I know you got soul”, “Black Steel in the hour of Chaos”, “Rapper’s Delight”, “The Crossover”, “Banned in the U.S.A.”??? Titles and names of songs are supposed to give you a hint of what the song is about. What happened to the message in Hip Hop? Hell, what happened to Hip Hop?
Now, I want to touch on an epidemic along the West Coast called “Hyphy”. The Hyphy movement. Hyphy music. Garbage is what it is. If you haven’t heard about Hyphy music or the Hyphy movement it consists of crappy music that glorifies the use of the drug ecstasy and then going “dumb” or “stupid” once you’ve reached a certain level or high from the mixture of ecstasy and alcohol. Mind you, this is BIG amongst the youth on the West Coast. Then, as the men are going “stupid” or “dumb” they dance uncontrollable throwing kicks and elbows as if they are reliving the Ludacris [song “Southern Hospitably] dominating the charts area or something. Inside a nightclub it gets even worst. The brothers who are dumbing out dance with other men and feel all over themselves and refuse to dance with women! I don’t know about you but I smell a sissy. What happened to just dancing. Hell, what happened to men dancing with women?
Furthermore, ecstasy or commonly known as “e” is a man-made designer drug with the ingredients of who knows what that slowly eats away at your skull. So, in actuality you really do become dumb. The Holy Bible speaks about people who abuse their bodies and the results of that abuse.
“16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
1 Corinthians 3:16,17
You and I both know that this is foolishness. The Apostle Paul, a black Jew by the way, said;
“when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
1 Corinthians 13:11
And when did it become a standard in Hip Hop culture our Black & Hispanic culture to refer to each other as ni**as, ho’s and b*tches? Back in the 70’s and 80’s if you called a brother a n*gga you got your behind beat. And if you referred to a sister as a ho most likely she was a working woman of the night (prostitute, harlot, call girl, escort, etc). And if you referred to a sister as a b*tch, she went to go get her brothers or male cousins and they came looking for you. Today the words n*gga, b*tch and ho are like badges of honor! Young girls wanting to grow up to be Video Vixens and strippers or skrippers and lusting after fast money. The Bible says, yeah that’s right, the Bible says that a woman who continues in that type of lifestyle will eventually die if she doesn’t change.
“But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.”
1 Timothy 5:6
What has happened to our beautiful people? In Jeremiah the Lord planted the Blacks, Hispanics and Indians a noble vine and a right seed. But we have been turned to a degenerate plant and a strange vine unto him.
“Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?”
Jeremiah 2:21
In closing, I would like to leave you with some images of what Hip Hop and Hip Hop culture has become. It’s time to wake up people
“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”
Romans 13:11

I agree rap music is garbage, but our children gravitate to the music because it is everywhere. You can turn to any station in any state and it’s like their all on one page, keep repeating the same music over and over again. Some of the so called R&B music is also sinceless. I do admit my children know the music and the dances associated with the songs, but the can also recite scriptures, breakdowns, and all of the songs from Israels Greatest Hits Volume 1. If we stop listening to the garbage they will most likely lose money, but the negative messages will continue to be put out there some way. We just need to train our children so they can deferenciate between good lyrics and garbage.

Once the mind is programmed to do wickedness it’s hard to break the cycle. Especially if they do not know the truth about the bible. Younger kids listening to rap music think that women are ho’s ect. They grow up thinking being a thug is a gainful occupation and they strive to become one. The general public can get rid of garbage rap music but they do not know who is really behind the scens pushing profanity, butt shaking, weed smoking ganster reality, . You will not see their biological children acting like they promote our kids to act by listening to garbage. But, their children enjoy listening to the music ( Amelecks)

Kan. A lot of these rappers send their little rich kids to private schools..faaaaaaar away from the same ‘hoods’ that they portray in their music..and subject the children of others to what we like to call “lyrical brainwashing”..and dumbing down of our children..Thank the Most High and YHWH for the talented brothers and sisters in the nation of Israel and the positive music they produce.

I would like to see a segment on the false education that Public Schools all around America instill in our kids daily, Columbus, How our history is not slavery,, Black inventors of the past, Conquistadors ect.
[Saints Unit response]
Thawadah sis, that’s a very good suggestion. We’ll have something on that in the near future.

I would like u to write a blog about Flavor Flav and whoremongers!!!
Thawadah Sir!
[Saints Unit response]
Sounds like a good idea. We don’t usually focus on specific people because that topic alone will incriminate ALL the pastors, more than half the NBA, NFL etc. athletes, “good christian folks”.. so we let the chips fall where they may.

I have grown up in an era were music was down right garbage. Nothing is done for edification. I do listen to certain “hip-hop”, but I cant take it for long. I have to turn the radio off now.
Thank God for Jazz, and certain Neo-Soul and R&B. Then there is our music that is like whoooooa…
But the music of my time is lacking some serious creative and the ability to focus on other topics than just money, ho*s, bling, whips, guns, haters… etc.
Thawadah for the article.
[Saints Unit reponse] Thawadah for your support as well. We have a few more new ones to post shortly.. definitely come back soon.
